HOW IT WORKS
A simple process for a more prepared household.
Second Pilot follows four simple stages, explained below in seven straightforward steps that help your household identify important responsibilities, uncover meaningful gaps, and build a practical path forward.

A PRACTICAL KIND OF PREPAREDNESS
A prepared household doesn’t require two experts.
Responsibilities can remain with the person who knows them best. Second Pilot helps make sure essential information has a known location and the other person has a workable path forward when needed.
What actually happens from beginning to end?
Each step builds on the one before it. Individual interview responses stay private throughout.
-
STEP 01
Start Your Household
One participant establishes the household and invites the other person.
-
STEP 02
Complete Separate Interviews
Each participant answers independently, based on what they personally know, can access and could handle if needed. Individual responses remain private.
-
STEP 03
Second Pilot Compares the Household Picture
Second Pilot looks across both interviews to identify strengths, differences and important continuity gaps.
-
STEP 04
Clarify Only When Needed
If something needs additional context, Second Pilot asks targeted follow-up questions. Clarification isn’t a correction, and there are no right or wrong answers.
-
STEP 05
Receive Your Household Results
Once analysis and review are complete, your household receives a Household Continuity Score out of 100, along with your Household Continuity Report showing where you’re well prepared and where important gaps remain.

STEP 06
Use Your 30-Day Knowledge Transfer Plan
Second Pilot provides a personalized, downloadable workbook and guide that organizes your most important findings into practical actions, in priority order. Work through it together at your own pace.
-
STEP 07
Complete Your Household Information Map
Second Pilot provides a personalized, downloadable household reference for recording where important documents and information are kept, and who to contact when needed.
Complete and maintain the Map on your own device. It can point to documents, records, professional contacts, digital-access instructions and the password manager or password program your household uses.
It records where information is kept, not the sensitive information itself. Second Pilot does not store your completed Map.
